Line Therapist

If you are passionate about helping a child with autism learn and grow to their full potential and helping families move toward leading a normal happy life this might be the career for you. Line therapists are the front line treatment providers and work with children on a one-to-one basis to progress beyond their limitations. Line therapists need to be 18 years old, have a high school diploma and have a natural ability to relate to and play with children. The line therapist position is one of the most rewarding in the field. You are able to see first hand as a child learns new skills and moves day-after-day toward social and functional independence. You make this happen through your day-to-day work with each child.
Prior experience working with children from an Applied Behavior Analysis approach helps to determine starting wage. In many cases line therapists work part time, but some Line Therapists who choose to make this their career may work full time. Line therapists may frequently have to lift 50 pounds (often during physical play with children). They may have to ward off an aggressive child who is in the process of learning more functional behaviors.
Each line therapist goes through a line training class to learn the basics of behavioral principles. Everyone is encouraged to read through our autism treatment information. We will provide specific training that covers ABA therapy, Verbal Behavior Therapy, ABA play therapy approaches, psychological ethics and maintaining professional boundaries. We will also train you on data tracking and using ABA visual inspection methods to make treatment decisions. Each Line therapist is mentored and directed by a Senior Therapist. Senior Therapists are responsible for running a child's program in the home, continually training Line Therapists, moving a child's program along, and working with parents to ensure that the parents treatment goals are integrated into their child's treatment. Senior Therapists are your resource when you have questions.

Senior Therapist

Senior Therapist's must have 2,000 hours working as a line therapist, a bachelors degree in a human service discipline, ideally a BCaBA through the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB). A Senior Therapist must have excellent communication skills, a solid grasp of APA ethics, excellent interpersonal skills and a solid grasp of autism and behavioral principles.
Our mission is to provide the highest quality treatment to the children and families we serve. We provide full health insurance benefits, 401 K with a generous company match, a yearly stipend for continuing education, cell phone and travel pay for all full time Senior Therapists.
